This privacy policy explains what happens to your data when you visit athens-museums.com. We built the site to need as little of your data as possible: there is no account to create, no newsletter signup on this version of the site, and no tracking cookies.
1. What we collect
We use Simple Analytics, a privacy-first analytics service, to see roughly how many people visit each page and which pages are popular. Simple Analytics does not use cookies, does not collect your IP address in a way that identifies you, and does not build a profile of you across visits or across other websites. We cannot see your name, your email address, or anything you type, because we do not ask for any of it on this site.
If you contact us by email, we keep that email for as long as it takes to answer you and for a reasonable time afterward in case you follow up, then delete it.
2. What we do not collect
- No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into.
- No tracking cookies. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels of our own.
- No payment details. We never see your card number, because every booking happens on our partner's own site, not on athens-museums.com. See our affiliate disclosure for how that works.
3. When you click through to book a ticket
When you click a "Check availability" or "Book" link, you leave this site and go to Headout or GetYourGuide, our two booking partners. From that point on, their own privacy policy applies, not ours. Both are established booking platforms with their own data protection practices. If you have questions about what they collect during checkout, their support teams are the right place to ask.
Those partners may pay us a commission when you book through our link, at no extra cost to you. This is covered in full in our affiliate disclosure.
4. Server logs
Like any website, our hosting provider keeps basic technical logs (the kind of request data needed to serve a page and keep the site secure) for a limited time. These logs are not used to identify individual visitors and are not sold or shared.
5. Children's privacy
This site is a general travel information resource and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, for example because we add a newsletter or a new analytics tool, we will update this page. Check back if you want to know what changed.
7. Contact
Questions about this policy, or a request to see or delete data we hold about you (such as a support email you sent us), can go to info@athens-museums.com. See also our terms of service and affiliate disclosure.
